Kouros Shahmiri, better known to the public as Kouros, is a popular and widely-known Iranian singer-songwriter. He is a naturalized American and currently lives in Los Angeles, California. He was also part of the duo Andy & Kouros alongside Andy Madadian Biography Shahmiri graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston. He went on to join Andy Madadian to form the duo, Andy & Kouros. They were first introduced to the public by Siavash Shams, a friend of Madadian. Their first collaborative album, "Khastegary," was released in 1985, followed by albums Parvaz (1988), Balla! and Goodbye (1991). They split in 1992, both to pursue their own solo careers. Shahmiri has since released 5 albums including "Nassleman," and the recently released album "Afsaneh." In 2002 Papillon Productions produced a Andy & Kouros reunion concert, the duo returned together on stage for the first time since their split 10 years prior, to perform for a sold-out audience in San Jose, California. The duo appeared in a 2007 remake of their big hit "Niloufar" released by Farez featuring Andy & Kouros. In 2009, they also engaged in a sold-out international tour together in the Iranian diaspora (North America, Europe, Australia). He has since released 5 albums including the greatly successful album "Nassleman," and the recently released album "Afsaneh. Kouros Shahmiri is an Iranian singer-songwriter. He has been breaking new grounds in Persian music since he emergerd on the music scene for over 20 years. Kouros studied jazz at the Boston-based Berklee College of Music graduating with a Traditional Composition/Jazz Arrangement major. Kouros made it big when he joined Andranik Madadian (better known as Andy) and together formed a successful duo Andy & Kouros. The two were first introduced at a Siavash Shams concert by Siavash himself who was a good friend of Andy. Andy & Kouros released 4 albums consecutive albums: Khastegary (1985), Parvaz (1988), the hugely successful album Balla! and finally Goodbye (1991), an ominous title as the duo split in 1992, with both Andranik Madadian and Kouros going on to have successful individual solo careers. After a ten year split of the duo, in 2002 Andy and Kouros were reunited together to perform for a sold-out audience in San Jose, California. And once again in 2004. Both concerts produced by Papillon Productions. In 2007 Andy and Kouros appeared in a remake of their big hit "Nilofar" released by Farez featuring Andy & Kouros. In 2009, they also engaged in a sold-out international tour together in the Iranian diaspora (North America, Europe, Australia). The duo is scheduled to perform together again on May 1, 2010 in San Jose, California at the same venue that hosted their first reunion concert eight years ago.
